I don’t believe American actors (of any race) would be upset about British or Australian actors being cast in American productions if they were able to fairly audition next to each other for the same roles.

But the problem is that the reps for particularly British actors are LEANING INTO stereotypes that Americans have about people with that particular accent. That they are always more qualified and intelligent and also yes, they ARE cheaper (actor after actor will confirm that even a small regular role on a shitty show pays MUCH better than more prestigious British productions… that’s just facts.)

So what’s been happening with white actors is that they’re being packaged as the better cheaper option and Hollywood loves that of course because they can then spend money on other things.  

And for white roles that’s not a big problem.
